Costume List

This is a table so that we have a list of all our costumes planned out ready for Ella to wear, so we aren't wasting time considering options when we could be filming. Throughout the video she will be wearing the same clothing to show that it is in the same time frame.

Prop List

This is our prop list to make sure we remember all of the things we will need to take with us, so we aren't forgetting any of it. The skateboard will be used at Riverside, where Ella will be trying to learn how to skateboard and having fun as part of her date with her boyfriend. The backpack is Ella's signature and how people will remember, so in almost every shot the backpack will appear with her.

Production Schedule

The table below shows how we have decided to carry out our filming schedule, this is so we can ensure we have planned our days our properly so we aren't rushing to fit in times at the end. Also, it shows the equipment we are going to take with us so we know what to take and use for the shots.

Storyboard

Having a storyboard is an advantage for us because we are able to have a format of what we have to do, instead of wasting time while filming deciding what shot to do next. The highlighted information on the posted not is to clearly point out our camera shots and angles we will be using.

Practice Lip Syncing Video

The video above is a 30 seconds video of us practicing to edit and match it up to the lyrics of the song. This video has shown us Ella's strengths, one of them is that she appears very confident in front of the camera and she brings the voice to life adding in small dance moves.
The struggles we had while trying to match the video to the song is timing, some parts of the video did accurately match the song. This weakness can ultimately be a good thing because it shows how important it is to have it accurate and by making this mistake now we are able to visually see where we are going wrong and change and develop our skills to improve this.
For the purpose of this video the timing of each shot is quite long so we can practice matching Ella singing to the lyrics. By creating a practice video it has been an advantage for us because we can see where we have gone wrong and the mistakes we have made to change for our real project. Some of things we have made a mistake with is to make sure Ella is in the shot at eye level. For example, in our long shot we have we need to make sure her feet are also in the shot. We also need to ensure that we direct her properly so the camera is still and we can have a smoother camera image.

Location Research

The first location we have decided to film in is London, this is a very broad area to film in so we looked for places which would be seen as ' indie' to fit the genre of our song. We also don't want to film in places which would be stereotypical to film in, for example, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben.
When looking into places in London we came across Notting Hill, this place has many different pastel colour houses which we thought would look nice and be cute to film in, considering our song is a love song. This place is also very secluded which is to our advantage because we didn't want many people watching us film or to be in the video. This is a place where we can avoid the busy streets as well as it looking pretty.

Another Location we plan to film at is in Wimbledon London, on the grounds of Cannizaro House Hotel. This place is very similar to Notting Hill in the sense that it is calm and quite place to film because it is in an isolated area and not in a central busy part. This place has an easy access because it is open to the public so we wouldn't need to ask for filming privileges because we aren't filming in the actual building. As seen in the pictures below the place can look very colourful because of all of the different colour flowers and trees. This is an advantage for us because the location of Notting Hill also has bright colours in, this shows that we want to continue this throughout the video.

Another location we plan to film at is Riverside park, here we would have Ella learning how to skateboard. We thought this would be a good place to film because it has a riverbank and a scenic area which would look like someone would go on for a date or a romantic walk, especially if we can look up on the weather forecast and plan to film on a sunny day.
This location is good to go to because it's local and only a 5 minute drive therefore if we needed to go back and get some more shots it would be easy to go after school or at the weekend.

We decided that we would end our music video with a sunset, and this would be filmed at a place called Darlands which is also around the corner from us, so it again it would be easy for us to re film shots if we needed to. At Darlands there are various hills, which is a plus for us because we wanted to have Ella placed on a hill by herself to show that the love she has with her boyfriend isn't there anymore. The only problem is with this is that because it is a sunset we would need to make sure we get there before the sun begins to set so we can set up the camera equipment and be prepared to get some good shots before the sun goes down or we would need to go back another day.

One location we have decided not to film at is the beach this is because we have decided that when it comes to film there won't be many sunny days for us to go and film. We won't want to go to the beach on a gloomy day because you associate the beach with a fun and getting a tan, on a dark day it is more likely that people will stay inside so the atmosphere wouldn't be right because the place would look deserted. If we went to film at the beach at the end of October it would look the first picture instead of the second picture which is what we would want it to look like. Also, for us to go to the beach we would need to pay for the train fare up there. However, as we have decided that London will be our main location, it would be too expensive to keep paying out for the train fares as we probably won't get all the filming done in London in one day, so we will need to spread our filming time across a couple of weekends. It easier for us to use locations nearer to us to film other parts so our main focus can be in London.
